My name is Kathryn Carrier, and I am the principal attorney and founder of Carrier & Associates. As a student in the School of Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I took a Communications Law course that sparked my interest in copyright and trademark law. I have always been a creative person and a serial entrepreneur, and became fascinated by the interplay of creative endeavors and legal rights and responsibilities. I then decided to attend law school, and chose Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Living in New Orleans was an amazing experience; it is truly a fascinating place, rich in culture and history. While in law school, I served as law clerk to the Honorable Robin M. Giarrusso, Civil District Court Judge, and was a Senior Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Review.
After earning my J.D. from Tulane in 2006, I headed out to California to sit for the bar exam.

Upon passing the California bar in 2006, I began working as an associate at the law firm of Sands Lerner PC in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles, where I gained broad experience in litigation, international law and transactional/contract law. I then began working as a litigation consultant for a number of large law firms in Los Angeles, on large-scale corporate, intellectual property and antitrust matters.
My creative interests are varied and numerous, including graphic design, writing, event design and interior design, and I love helping other creative individuals and business owners to protect their ideas and businesses. This naturally led to the start of Carrier & Associates, which was founded on the idea that creative businesses can benefit greatly from specialized legal services.
